The Pretty on Pinterest theme this week is "hot" and honestly the first thing that popped into my head when I saw that theme was "well it sure isn't hot here"... we are still right smack dab in the midst of full-on winter.
(my husband took this picture of an ice fishing hut on the lake this afternoon...
it is less than 2 minutes from our house)
Snow and ice are covering everything and "hot" is about the very last adjective I would use to describe anything around here right now. Everyone is dressed from head to toe in full winter gear so we all sort of look the same tromping through endless snow drifts and trying not to freeze solid.
We even have an ice road. No really... a road, made of ice....
ice road- read the orange sign- it says "Ice Road Speed Limit 30 Km/h Please Slow Down". It is just a road they make on the lake during the winter and you can actually drive across the lake to cut down on the "commute" from one side of the lake to the other. My husband took this picture this afternoon on the lake less than 2 minutes from our house.)
Sounds delightful doesn't it? Actually we just had a huge snowfall so everything is quite pretty. Beautiful- but definitely not hot.
So here are just a few of the delightful places I found on Pinterest that absolutely scream HOT to me. Places I long to go someday. This Canadian girl so badly wants to experience the wonders of the sun-soaked lands someday.
Oh to walk on white sand beaches or swim in crystal clear water... that is my lifelong day dream...
Ok- actually that last one is a picture I pinned off of my husband's photo page. He took it at a local beach last summer and I pinned it while I was reminding myself that summer will indeed come again :).
In all truth I love that we have four seasons here in Canada and I enjoy all four seasons (even Winter)... but this is the time of year that I start to really long for spring. And it really is my dream to one day visit somewhere that looks like one of those pictures above. I MUST experience that!!
