Road Rippers * review *

Pin It Thanks to Team Mom we were sent a super cool Road Rippers R/C Motor Muscle Car for the boys to try out.

We were sent the 1971 Dodge Super Bee.

  • This new line of classic 1960s and 70s muscle cars offers full-function radio control features.
  • Each classic car includes its own uniquely styled remote controller that incorporates design cues pulled from the actual vehicle.
  • Play features include flashing lights and a popular classic tune from the car's original era.
  • Motor Muscle models include the 1967 Corvette Stingray, 1969 Dodge Daytona, 1971 Dodge Super Bee and 1970 GTO Judge.

It can move in all directions which is really cool. It drives easily over all the floors in our house- hardwood and carpet alike. My boys have enjoyed playing with it over the past several days. I'm not entirely sure how it will stand up over time... but it seems relatively sturdy so far.

The boys LOVE that it plays music ... but honestly Doug and I HATE that. It is really annoying after the first couple times. Seriously annoying. Annoying enough that I have banned them from playing with the car in the same room as me.

It wouldn't be so bad if there was a volume control but it seems to only have one volume- LOUD. And when the batteries start to die the song gets stuck and plays like a skipping CD... not enjoyable.

But again, the kids love that feature.

Fans can also check out Season One of "Rippisodes" - a brand new webisode series based on the popular Road Rippers collection. Check out www.mymotorisland.com.
