In our family I am, by far, the least qualified to review this game so I had my husband and sons do it for me! Here is what my husband had to say about it:
We had an older Bakugan Wii game, so I was interested in seeing how this compared. The gameplay on the new one is centered more around the combat then the strategy, which is easier for the kids to play and get into. You get to play as a new character that has to battle for all the main character’s in the series as they have lost the ability to battle Bakugan.
The story line is there and is as one might expect, it seems consistent with the television show. That is, don’t look too hard and it will make sense. Perfect. You get to switch between playing the human character running about avoiding being caught by the baddies and playing as the monster size Bakugan battling over city streets and country landscapes. You’re penalized for smashing buildings, but it’s still fun.
It was entertaining and the boys seem to like it. You get to play as many of the main Bakugan characters and are able to choose your upgrades and bonuses. You can customize your human character as well.
If your kids love Bakugan, they will enjoy this game. If you know nothing about the series, you likely will be confused with the story line, but that won’t matter to you playing the game.
Thanks so much to Activision for sending me a review copy of this game.
