Rock Symphonies, the latest release from best-selling classical artist David Garrett, breathes new life into the classic music genre. A unique blend of classic violin music and contemporary rock songs, Rock Symphonies is a moving celebration of Garrett’s two loves: classical music and the rock-and-roll songs of his generation.
A child prodigy born in Germany, Garrett has been amazing fans around the world since he was a young boy. By age 12, Garrett was playing on stage with the London Philharmonic, the Los Angeles Philharmonic and the Russian National Orchestra. His self-titled debut album, David Garrett, debuted in the states at #1 on the Classical Crossover Chart and held the position for 31 solid weeks in 2009.
David Garrett holds the Guinness Book of World Records title for the fastest performance of "The Flight of the Bumblebee", which he performed on Oprah.
I think David Garrett has some serious talent. I am very impressed! Rock Symphonies is different than most music out there- classical crossover is not something I hear very often. It is really cool though. I enjoyed this album.
I will say the music made me feel like I should be in a hurry or something- you know the music in movies that plays while the main character is running away from the bad guys and is going to successfully get away? The positive but rushed hero music? That is what this album is. I should have been cleaning my house or trying to type as fast as I could while it was playing.
Rock Symphonies is definitely worth a listen to!
Thanks so much to Music Moms and David Garrett for sending me a copy of this CD to review!
