Repo Men *review*

Repo Men (July 27th) - For a price, any organ in your body can be replaced. But it can also be repossessed.

In the futuristic action-thriller Repo Men (starring Jude Law and Forest Whitaker), humans have extended their lives through highly sophisticated and expensive mechanical organs created by a company called The Union.  The dark side of these medical breakthroughs is that if you don’t pay your bill, The Union sends its highly skilled repo men to take back its property – with no concern for your comfort or survival. Former soldier Remy (Law) is one of the best organ repo men in the business. But when he suffers a cardiac failure on the job, he awakens to find himself fitted with the company's top-of-the-line heart-replacement, as well as a hefty debt. The side effect? His heart's no longer in the job. When he can't make the payments, The Union sends its toughest enforcer, Remy's former partner Jake (Whitaker), to track him down. This Blu-ray and DVD release includes two versions of the thriller: the theatrical cut, and the never-before-seen unrated version--both on the same disc!

MY REVIEW

I thought Repo Men was a pretty typical action flick... definitely geared to adult males! It certainly held my attention but wow did it ever have a lot of gory violence which is not my favourite. My mom watched it and said that it was really good - an exciting and thrilling show - but definitely not family friendly. I agree. The acting is great and the storyline is fascinating... rather unrealistic but still fascinating. Repo Men is an all around edge-of-your-seat entertaining movie. But for sure NOT for kids.

Thanks so much to Universal Studios Home Entertainment Canada for sending me a review copy of this DVD.
