Proof...

Pin It This is my house today...

I just wanted documented photographic proof that my house IS clean sometimes.

Which may not seem like a big deal for most of you but for someone who spent 6 of the past 8 years with severe post partum depression broken up with bouts of plain old regular depression you just have to trust that it is important. For so many years basic daily tasks felt unbelievably overwhelming... and now they don't.

Some days I still struggle and the task of keeping my home in order feels rather daunting... but it is WAY LESS daunting than it was a year ago.

And for that I am incredibly grateful.

And to my friends who consistently manage to drop by when my house is at its most chaotic... here is proof that 3 hours before you stopped by it looked pretty.

So there.

It looks lovely!! And as a mom of three kids, I know how much effort it took to make it look like that.

And as someone whose mother in law showed up unexpectedly today, and could not find a surface clean enough to sit on, I can understand the last part of the message. But the house is clean NOW! :)

Looks awesome! Can I have some of your motivation today?

Can someone tell me where the law is that causes everyone to only show up when my house is messy? Ironically they still hire me to clean their houses, so they must know I have some skills.

Nice! Your house looks very pretty. I have the same dining room chairs as you...but my table is half as big. I think I need to upgrade. :)
Hope you're having a nice weekend!

It looks so warm and inviting!! I know what you mean by daunting...for every toy you pick up one drops down. It can be overwhelming especially with post-para! I'm glad you are in good spirits these days! :-)

Your house is beautiful! I understand the jobs of a mother are never really accomplished... or never stay cleaned for long!

Beautiful house! I too had many a year where the house was not kept up. But we have to be gentle with ourselves because a kept up house doesn't make for healthy children. It is the time we spend with them and the love we give them. Which I can clearly see from your posts they are lavished with love and attention.

Everything looks great! Did you stand on a ladder or what??

It looks great, You could use more shelves though. They were great when my kids were little and still are. I have to laugh though, there is no company in the pictures. Of course, they stop by unannounced when the house isn't in order. :) Happens often I know. lol

I've been so tempted to do that too: take a picture of a clean, uncluttered house! LOL!

Looks great!

Great work Tara, worth taking photos. Wish my house looked like that at the moment. And my youngest daughter has Princess sticker things on her wall similar to the ones Olivia has.
