I love love LOVE Etsy and I am thrilled that I get to introduce you all to Saffery Moore today!
Saffery Moore is an Etsy shop run by a friend of mine named Rachelle. She and I attended bible school together many years ago. Rachelle is a pastor's wife and mommy to 3 great boys and an all around great lady!
If you are not yet familiar with Etsy than I encourage you to check it out! It is a wonderful on-line marketplace of fabulous handmade products.
Here is a description of Saffery Moore in Rachelle's own words...
Saffery Moore was created from a fun past-time of sewing into my small home-based business. I am a stay-at-home mom of three very active boys and sewing allows me to have some time to myself so that I can relax and regroup. The name Saffery Moore is in honour of my grandmothers - Saffery is my paternal grandmother's maiden name and Moore is my maternal grandmother's maiden name (I also thought it sounded kinda cool when I put them together!).
While I can use patterns to sew, they tend to frustrate me, so I prefer to just go by the "trial and error" theory. Therefore, all of my items are my own "patterns" and creations. I prefer to use bright colours and fun patters - they make me smile!
A lot of items I make are things I have first tried out for my own children, ranging in age from 21 months to 5 years old. The change pads came into being from a frustration of having to always carry a diaper bag around, even for little trips. So this change pad has two pockets, one for wipes and one for diapers/pull-ups, and folds up to keep everything in. The handles allows me to hang it over my stroller (my kids also like carrying their "own" diaper bag around!). I made my first puppet theatre because my boys have over-active imaginations and love to put on puppet shows and the aprons came into being because I have a lot of "little helpers" right around supper time! The bags and purses I made just because I like to make them!
I really believe in supporting the mom-run businesses out there and I think Saffery Moore is fabulous. The bibs, burp pads, blankets, hat & mitt sets and diaper pads would make the perfect gift for the new babies in your life. The puppet theatre and aprons would be fabulous for those creative kiddos you know. And the purses are beautiful and would make any woman happy this Christmas.
I personally love that so many of Rachelle's products are reversible. Tired of your look? Just switch your Saffery Moore purse inside out and voila- a brand new look :)
Saffery Moore products are all incredibly reasonably priced and the shipping rates to Canada/USA are both low.
And just look at all the fun colours! I think it is amazing that anyone can make beautiful products like this without using a pattern :)
