I'm having a terrible time with Olivia's sleeping schedule these days. She is in that awful "just starting to grow out of naps" stage. It is kind of driving me crazy. So this evening she fell asleep on the couch just before supper time... not good. Now it is midnight and she is still going strong. Since the boys went to bed HOURS AGO Olivia has eaten several snacks (or more accurately asked for several snacks but eaten only small bites from said snacks leaving the rest to pollute the living room), read several books, done a few puzzles and watched several programs on TV...

When my son went through the 'no nap' time, I had him do a 'quiet time' of about an hour in his room. I can't recall one time he fell asleep. BUT, he was ready for bed by 6:30-7:00pm, which I then continued and it went smoothly. He never fell asleep before eating, but if he had, I wouldn've let him sleep no more than 10 minutes and then wake him. Hope this helps and works for you. It is a struggle.
I am also dealing with the growing out of my nap hell phase. Now my son has decided he needs to stay up for daddy, who gets home at 11:30pm. Not good, not good.
I love that he shoes are on the wrong feet! LoL
