So I won this very cool contest for that beautiful necklace in the above picture from The Fine Art of Family that I really want but since I am a complete MORON I failed to notice that it was only open to US mailing addresses. Of course. SO I am attempting to find a nice US friend who will take the delivery and then send it on to me. The thing is that a necklace is NOT heavy. It can be sent for cheap... even to Canada... because it can fit in an envelope. But they won't send it without insurance. Which is expensive. Lame (NOTE: the postal system/ customs people are lame. Not the Fine Art of Family. There is nothing they can do about it. They are great and make beautiful jewelry). This is the second time this has happened to me. (yes, apparently I AM that stupid).
The FIRST time I won this...
isn't it beautiful? I won it because it came from my idea. But I couldn't have it because I am in Canada. Of course. The person I won it from- Trisha- was very gracious and gave me a gift certificate to Etsy instead. And don't get me wrong, a gift certificate is great... but I still couldn't get that lovely bow holder.
And I was sad.
By the way if you would like to buy one of those gorgeous bow holders (and you live in the USA of course) then you can find them here...
This isn't a paid advertisement for them or anything, I just really think that bow holder is gorgeous.
Anyway, I am so sad that this happened again. Sigh.
Especially since my kids broke our TV. Seriously they did. They cracked the liquid crystal screen. It is dead. Beyond dead. It might as well get thrown in a dumpster dead. The crazy thing is I was more just sad than mad. Of COURSE our TV would break. Just another thing to deal with. Yes as a matter of fact I AM a pessimist. So there.
And you all KNOW how much I love TV!!!! So we have stolen the TV that we gave my mom... she's gone for 2 more weeks on her vacation and then we'll have to come up with a new plan.
Speaking of my mom's vacation she went to BC to attend my Aunt & Uncle's 50th wedding anniversary and family reunion thing... that I missed... because we are too broke to go. Both Doug and I were so sad to miss it. Sigh.
So there you have it folks.
I am off to beg and plead my American friends to let me use their address!!!
Hope your day is going better than mine!
YOU my bloggy friends ROCK!!! 5 of you have already offered to help me out and I SO appreciate it! You made my day. I could just cry with relief!
