Yesterday we all drove to the city (2.5 hrs each way) to take my husband's broken camera in to be fixed. We were about half way there when my son Aiden said to me "Mom, can I take off my shoes?... haha I mean my shoe and my sandal?" To which I replied "What? Why are you wearing two different kinds of shoes?"
That's right people... I took my son to the big city with mismatched shoes. Awesome.
My sons were very excited to get out of the van once we finally got there. We had the most wonderful lunch at East Side Mario's. Apparently on Monday's kids eat free! Yahoo for us! It was very enjoyable... other than Miss. Olivia's constant whining. After lunch we stopped at a couple places to buy some "only found in the city" stuff and then we went to visit my brother-in-law Phil and his wife Erica.
They even fed us supper and let my kids run around in their yard for a couple hours.
Here is Uncle Phil making a fire to roast hot dogs and marshmallows on.
And here is Uncle Phil and Aunt Erica teaching the boys the fine art of marshmallow roasting.
And here is some of the lovely Saskatchewan scenery we saw on the drive home.
Doesn't it almost look like a lake and mountains? It's not. It's a flooded field and a bank of clouds.
Here is a flooded road...
I thought it was funny. But we do have very pretty skies here.
Honestly, they should have called it Labiastick.
