We leave for our family vacation in Ontario in 11 days. We are very excited to see everyone again. It has been 3 years since we moved away. Owen was only 8 months old and Aiden had just turned 2.
One of our friends, Carolynn Bucek, has graciously agreed to host a little reunion party for us and we are really looking forward to that. Thanks Carolynn :)
I personally am especially looking forward to spending some quality girl time with my mother-in-law Ann and my sister-in-law Julia and of course sweet Olivia. Today is my mother-in-law's birthday so Happy Birthday Ann, I love you.
We are planning on doing all sorts of fun and exciting things like visiting some very cool museum/science centre type places in our nation's capital. Places that have cool stuff for the boys to do. I am sure just being in the city will be a huge shock to them since they are used to small town life. We are also planning on going to the Toronto Zoo which I am really excited about. I have a fondness for the giraffe there. Doug's Aunt Eva and Uncle Ray live in the area and we are so excited to catch up with them and Doug's cousins as well. We have a relatively new cousin the same age as Olivia and we are SO looking forward to meeting little Charlie.
Have you ever noticed how the weeks just before vacation go especially slowly?
Not that I am anywhere NEAR ready to go. Wow is there ever a lot of planning involved with flying across the country with 3 small children. Crazy.
And I am not looking forward to the actual time getting there. Hopefully the boys will be so thrilled with the airplane that they are stunned into good behaviour. Anything is possible. But I won't hold my breath.
We have to fly out of Saskatoon at 6 am the day we leave. That is far too early. So we will be staying over night at my brother & sister-in-law's house the night before. It will be hard enough getting three kids to the airport by 5 am when we are already in the city. Never mind trying to drive the 2.5 hours to get there in the middle of the night.
I am hoping to be over the never-ending cold I have by the time we leave. The boys and Olivia and Doug have it too. Hopefully we will all be better by then.
Guess I should get going on that mountain of laundry downstairs.
